It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the loss of a kind and generous man. Sheriff Big John Williams never missed an opportunity to offer a reassuring word or advice gained from a forty year law enforcement career serving others. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office. 

St. Clair County Sheriff's Office presented Sheriff Williams daughter Shanice Williams and Lieutenant Jones from the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office with a special memorial flag in honor of Sheriff Williams.
