Joseph Smith earns his Mission Pilot Wings

 

After 3 years of work and specialized training, Joseph Smith has earned his Mission Pilot wings within the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office Air Support Unit.  This reflects hundreds of hours of ground training beyond the flight training required to master the Bell Kiowa airframe.

Smith is an Officer at Odenville Police Department and a Reserve Deputy at the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office.

Smith is an Army Airborne Veteran and has earned his FAA Private Fixed Wing Rating as well as his Private, Commercial, and Certified Flight Instructor Helicopter Rating.  He is currently completing his Helicopter Instrument Rating at Wallace State.

Present will be his father, Richard Smith and his OPD Chief and Captain.
