Today, in Pell City, the St. Clair County Commission and Chairman Stan Batemon, at the recommendation of Sheriff Billy J. Murray, honored two patrol deputies and two telecommunicators with Resolutions for life-saving service to the community.

On August 2nd, Telecommunicator Kari Harrison received a 911 call for a 34-year-old man who was unresponsive, not breathing, and in cardiac arrest. Kari promptly provided CPR instructions to his wife until deputies arrived. Deputy Matt Newton and Deputy Zac Tutten then continued CPR and used their automated external defibrillator multiple times, successfully reviving the victim, who is now recovering from an undiagnosed heart condition.

On July 23rd, Telecommunicator Hannah Garrison received a 911 call for an unresponsive 16-month-old who had fallen into a bathtub. Hannah immediately utilized her training to calmly guide the child's father through life-saving CPR.

We commend our amazing team for their dedication and service. Their actions are a source of pride not only for the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office but for the entire law enforcement community.
