    Event: Grand Jury Indictments        

 

An incident was reported to the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office by the St. Clair County DHR that an infant that had been transported to Children's Hospital in Birmingham on May 23rd, 2021 from a residence in Ashville. The infant died and the injuries were consistent with child abuse.  An investigation was immediately launched by the St. Clair County Criminal Investigation Division.

This month a St. Clair County Grand Jury indicted Joshua Lovechio and Ashley Jacks for one count each of felony murder in the death of their infant daughter.

They are currently in the St. Clair County Jail and bonds are set at 1,000,000.00 each.

The investigation is ongoing at this time and more information may be released at a later date.
